Artist Statement
The collages from Lucid Dreaming Series are inspired by the artist’s larger video installation project, Between the Waves that premiered at Documenta 13 (Kassel, 2012). We encounter lush, fantastical landscapes full of playful metaphors. It’s as if Shah has created a new story of a species that has been forgotten for a long time, or found from the distant future. Here are seemingly time-transcending scenes of an intimate society where none is alone.
